The Sri Lanka-India Media Friendship Association (SLIMFA) was inaugurated on 29th May 2024 at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) in Colombo during a gathering of Sri Lankan journalists who had visited India on familiarization trips or other visits supported by the Government of India. High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka is the EX-Officio Patron of SLIMFA.
The objective of the formation of SLIMFA is to promote exchanges between media fraternity, further enhance awareness of contemporary India, foster research and writing on India Sri Lanka partnership, promote new ideas to enhance People to People ties and to support capacity building programs.
